Emotionally Drained!!!
I Was carrying all the laundry upstairs and she wanted to help, I gave her a shirt to carry. I was behind her and all the laundry was falling so I ran up to set it at the top of stairs. As I am walking back to the steps i hear "boom boom boom" and see her land on the step. She fell about 5 steps, not going all the way down to the bottom. I could tell instantly the cry was different and she was holding/not moving her arm. It was more of a shocked look, cry out, then get quiet and looked scared while grabbing her arm. Thank god matt was working from home that day!
Luckily we live right next to the children's hospital, so we were at the hospital right away. They did x-rays and found that both bones in her wrist were broken. The one was a clean break, but the other bone was over and down a bit so it would have to be set. Their orthopedic team couldn't see her that day so they sent us to the downtown hospital.
She was such a trooper! They put in her IV shortly after we arrived and then played for an hour while we waited for the ortho team. Watching her be put under was the scariestand hardest thing i've seen. We had to leave the room right after, and it looked like she was lifeless on the table. Both Matt and I had to keep ourselves together! She was totally drugged and out of it for awhile when she came too, which was hard to watch also. Overall just not a fun experience!
She's in a temporary cast until Wednesday and then hopefully we get a permament one. They said it would be 3-6 weeks if all goes well. We can't go to the pool, and she's lost a lot of her independence, needing me to help with getting into a chair/ect. I can't seem to get over this horrible guilt that this is all my fault. I am a 7 month pregnant, emotional mess.
To make it all worse, she choked on half a grape yesterday and i had to swoop it out of her throat (first time i've ever had to do that). I just started bawling and said, "I can't handle this"! I need a 15 hour nap, a drink, and a normal day!
Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers during this ordeal.

Ashlyn-isms
So it occured to me the other day that Ashlyn sounds a lot like Yoda, or an Indian Chief when she talks. I find it amusing the way the toddler brain puts together thoughts and sentences. Here are some of the cute and funny things she says with the translation:
"Daddy go work"- Daddy is at work
"Banana Butter"- Banana with Peanut Butter
"Cracker Bite Break"- Break the cracker in half with my teeth
"More poop please"- Let's go pick up Bailey's poop in the yard
"Mommy get it"- Go pick it up mommy
"Mimi car please"- Take me to mimi's house in your car
"Bathing Suit" or "Water Shoes"- Let's go to the pool
"Baby paci"- Holding paci up to my tummy for baby to suck on
"Ashlyn toot toot"- I just passed gas
"Bailey pancake?"- Can i throw my pancake on the floor for bailey to eat
The best, and scary part, is that she repeats almost anything we say. So while it's sweet when she says, "home run daddy"......repeating "oh Jesus" or "holy crap" is a little different. Guess we have to start watching everything we say out loud.
Here are some other things Ashlyn is loving this summer:
Being in the water, and having her first popsicle at Mimi and Papa's house
Patrolling the backyard for dog poo, random I know!!!
Update on me. Here is a picture of me at 28 1/2 weeks (excuse my after exercise look). Ashlyn thought it was funny i was taking picture against the wall, so she kept running over to be next to me. Hence the front shot this time. I'm feeling good, but getting more tired and out of breath each week it seems. The baby feels like it is sitting a lot lower on me, which is an odd and sometimes uncomfortable feeling. My tummy also feels tight, like it is stretching, which i'm sure is from the more rapid growth of the baby. Overall, can't complain though- no major bumps to hurtle thus far.

Daddy's Favorite
I think Dad's with their daughters is the cutest, sweetest thing ever! Happy Father's Day Matt!
Ashlyn is 21 Months today. Scary to think how close she is to turning 2, which means #2 is also not too far from joining the family. WHERE does the time go?!??!?! Here she is hanging out in Mommy and Daddy's bed this morning, and being a "Big Girl" sitting at the bar.

What a Challenge....
So it is very hard for me right now that a new side of Ashlyn has started to emerge. She thinks it's funny to hit mommy in the face, she laughs at me when i discipline her, tries to smack the dog, has to do everything her way, and she specifically does things when I tell her no (ex. looking right at me and throwing food across the table after being to stop), ect. I know they hit an age where they start becoming more independent and testing the boundaries, but wow this is tough!
So please don't judge me if she isn't perfect on a trip to the grocery store, at a restaurant, or even in her own home. Mommy is having a hard time finding a balance of teaching right and wrong and staying patient through it all. (Sighs)
If only she weren't so darn cute!

Older Woman
Otherwise we are enjoying the pool, feeding the ducks at the pond, eating fresh fruit, sundresses, tank tops, and the hot summer air! Oh how life will change when #2 comes along.
